Service is frequently described as warm, attentive, and personable, enhancing the welcoming, family-like ambiance. Trattoria Don Ciccio is a hidden gem of Taormina! Take two steps off the Corso Umberto and enjoy lovely atmosphere, authentic and flavourful Sicilian food when listening to some live music and chatting to Tratorria’s staff that will make you feel like a part of their family. I recommend tagliata served under rucola and parmigiano regiano flakes, with baked potatoes on the side that will make you order seconds! But pace yourself as the tiramisu there is THE BEST I have even tried (and I have tried a lot of them)!
We came across Don Ciccio by chance and were so glad we found it. It was an oasis away from the mass of people dining and walking on Corso Umberto. It is located on a quiet side street where there is shaded outside seating and a slight view down to the sea. Our waiter was exceptional. We loved the food. I had the ravioli Don Ciccio and caprese salad and both were delicious. The chef appears to take great pride in his work and personally came out to check on our (and other patrons') meals. I would recommend Don Ciccio's to anyone who needs a break from the crowds and wants a delicious, well prepared meal.
Right after the Duomo, on a quiet little street, outside from the bustle of Corso Umberto you’ll find this unpretentious trattoria serving traditional, delicious, and very reasonably priced food. We had the caponata, the shrimp salad, and pastas for our mains – all fresh, flavorful, and wonderfully filling. The service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even better. We walked in without a reservation (it was a Thursday and we had just arrived), but the place filled up quickly – so definitely recommended to book ahead if you can!
100/10 recommend if you are visiting — away from the busy streets of Taormina, but still has the charm. The waiter was so sweet and attentive. The chef (who is also the owner) is spectacular, the food was absolutely delicious! Grazie
Wonderful! A view with soft background music. The head waiter catches the ultra fresh fish in the morning. Definitely be back!
We had an amazing experience at Trattoria Don Ciccio! The food was absolutely excellent – full of flavor and beautifully prepared. It’s tucked away on a quiet side street, which gave it a peaceful, intimate atmosphere, and the view was simply breathtaking. We were especially grateful to find it open during the afternoon hours when most restaurants are typically closed – a lifesaver! The service was outstanding – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The relaxing ambiance, complemented by lovely background music, made it a perfect dining spot. If you’re dining with family or a group, definitely try the antipasti platter. Our family of three shared it, and it was more than enough. The aubergine and cheeses were especially good! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Taormina!
This place was absolutely brilliant, food was amazing, staff were so friendly to me and my young children. They gave us a welcome Prosecco and bread with tapenade, and everyone thought their dishes were 10/10! A little pricey but comparable to everywhere else in Taormina and actually worth the money!
